I was just about to post about your number 2. Sweet cheese and crackers, I hate that. I can listen to people rant and complain 24/7, as long as they are doing something to rectify the situation. If it's a one time "omigawd, I can't believe my car got a flat AND I have a bad hair day" no action needed. But if you're complaining about your job ever. damn. day but never do anything, anything at all, no matter how tiny like just *thinking* about the job you want, and then taking another little step, I will cut you off. Don't tell me how broke you are every single day and then go out shopping every day.

This was a really helpful post for me because I've been toying with picking up a friendship that ended about a year and a half ago due to this very same reason. She really WAS close friend, and I'd like to know if she's changed, but I don't know if I can go through that negativity again . . .
