I'm getting a little peeved at hearing "I'm finally proud to be an American/fly the flag".
Thoughts on this are a bit scattered still, but in short: being proud of your country and your flag doesn't have to mean also being proud of your president.
I don't like G.W. Bush. But he's not America. His actions, IMO, often ran contrary to what I consider to be the ideals our forefathers fought for. Life, liberty, pursuit of happiness anyone?
