Pastor had sex with daughters.
"The man told the court the sex was not about fulfilling his desires but about teaching his daughters how to behave for their husbands when they eventually married, as dictated in scripture....he was genuinely remorseful and had a good chance of rehabilitation as his wife and the church remained supportive."
Um...WTF is going on here? WHO THE HELL SUPPORTS AND FORGIVES THIS BULLSHIT? Did Jesus say "forgive them that fuck their 13-year old daughters, for they know not what they do?"
And here I thought purity balls were a fucked up concept (well, they are to me anyways but I partially attribute that to my lack of an unfucked up father figure).

Good thing for him he's not in the American prison system or he might not make it out alive...

(1 John 1:9 KJV) If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
No matter what a Christian does, if they are repentant they are forgiven. No karma either. Yahweh apparently doesn't hold a grudge.
I find Christianity to be a very strange religion.

Plus, there's no equivalent for teen boys. What gives?

I read as much of it as I could stand, and two things stood out to me:
1) The fathers pledge to work on their own "purity" as part of this. Lead by example rather than "do as I say not as I do" is a good thing. There's a lot of statistical research on the social problems of girls raised without fathers. I can see the logic of be a better man to be a better father to have a healthier/happier daughter.
2) The girls silently pledge to go along with this idea by placing a white rose on an altar (regardless of what they call it.) Does this sound like giving up your voice to anyone? Because it creeped the hell out of me.
