That is really ridiculous, considering that the APA declassified it as a mental disorder the year I was born.

Strange. It was taken out of the Psych manual describing everything that's considered as a disorder 30+ years ago.

The question is:

If it is a disorder, why then someone could use their homosexuality to apply for benefits...it's a disorder!!!

That's right, you *could* exploit this to apply for permanent disability! (And that would get the classification changed pretty fuckin' quick!)

I am not surprised, honestly, but then, if having a mental disorder is reason to not be in the military, we wouldnt have any Marines left.
