Looking at my schedule for the rest of the month, I'm starting to think [livejournal.com profile] glitch25 might yet talk me into using a PalmPilot. That or I'm going to get back into using a paper day planner.

I kind of like being busy though. When I'm forced to adapt to a busy schedule I'm better at using my time wisely. Funny how that works... reminds me of when I was in high school trying to do the "working until 9pm the night before a paper is due" type of rush.

I've recently abandoned my Palm Pilot and gone back to a paper appt book. It's just easier to use somehow, and easier to view my appts.

Google calendar! I really love this for social planning; it's available anywhere a computer with internet is, and I can not only see my own calendar but also those of anyone who has a calendar and made it available to me, to match up free times. It does darn near everything I want a social/community calendar to do, and that's saying something.

Hm...Marcos and I have a calendar we use on his own domain. Maybe a more public one would be useful.

The nice thing is, YOU get to decide how public it is, who gets to see it. And you can decide if any given event is kept private, is available to the people you've given access to, or can be seen by the general public. (My default is to show things only to the people I've given access to.)

Mine can be set up that way.. the difference for me is that I have control of the data and don't feel like I have to depend on a separate service to have it all. I like that aspect of running my own.

I've been eyeballing Google calendar (as well as rememberthemilk.com, which is a task manager that can interface with Google calendar.) My problem is that it takes so darn long to get them set up (because my calendar is so full!) that I haven't found the time to play with it.

I keep thinking it would be a boon to my family.

Oooh, that sounds nifty! And yes, I suspect your family would love it, especially since life sounds like it's going to be getting even busier and more complicated over there than it already has been, what with Venus gearing up.

Ooooh. Yeah. I've always wanted one of those that's part cell phone and part planner, but I do love just having a paper one. It's so much easier to just keep it in your bag and flip through it to look at what you've done (and check to go "AHA! I WAS sick that day!".

The cell phone thing, though... it'd be double the frustration if it was lost or stolen.

PS - hot guy alert at library. he he :)
