Sensationalism?

I'm a bit torn. There's reference made to the couple using Wicca and ceremonial magic. So are we talking about a coven/organized group? Or is this a case of sexual abuse where "hoodoo" stuff just happened to be around along with the drugs, so "Wicca" just came up as the first buzzword available (since Satanic Ritual Abuse is sooo 1980's and 'cult' is such a broad term)?

It's shitty either way.

Yah, it wasn't much diffrent from any story about some couple who 'lures' a kid through a christian church, or the raver scene, or teen beer parties... they gave it that same spin of sensationalism...

...but it comes down to the same thing that all child abuse (or inappropriate contact) comes down to: adults know the law and they know 'better'. THEY are responsible because the kid may be 'willing' but doesn't really come to them knowing (in most cases)- they're using the 'candy' of choice... no matter what scene or culture it comes from... be it a priest taking advantage of trust, or an adult providing something they cannot get to otherwise at age-appropriate parties, whatever, ya know? that adult is goin' to jail the second anyone catches them.

And wow will they turn it into a scare story for everyone, in the process, making it as skeery or outrageous sounding as they can. :P

It happens every day, ya know? Just send the suckers to jail already- they knew it was against the law regardless of any other facts involved. :P
