I have sex to get temporarily rid of distracting biological imperatives. Same reason I eat when I am hungry. I also have sex in order to fulfill obligation to serve and please another person whom I care about and feel satisfied for the accomplishment of successful service.
If I could take my own pleasure out of sexuality I would gladly do so in order to better focus on bringing pleasure to a partner. However, most partners feel similarly in their desire to please, which would make such an option less pleasurable for them. Something of a dilemma, since my emotional reaction to sensation (pain or pleasure) is reduced due to a neuro-developmental abnormality. As a result, I have not learn to not fake it exactly (since I do feel the sensation) but to emulate the emotional reaction. Unfortunately, I get less practice in doing so as I would like, and some partners find it off-putting that I ask them to teach me how I can communicate pleasure to them.
