So, I got a voice mail today from mom letting me know that my cousin's bridal shower next month would be a family-type affair.

Um...so what kind of gift do I bring to a bridal shower where relatives are present?

Perhaps something tame(although, I would take the booze :)), maybe some jewelry she could wear would be a safe deal, for example pearl bracelet/necklace/earrings type set. Something also to consider:a beautiful handkerchief she could carry, gift cards are also safe.

Bridal showers always remind me of this, particularly the line, "Our wedding will take place a year and a half from your proposal. It doesn't really take that long to set up a wedding, I just want to relish the fact that I am getting married for as long as I possibly can. During that time, I will be the center of attention. Sadly, this will be the highlight of my life."
